Vinyl Liner Repair & Replacement

The Vinyl Liner Replacement Process

Drain The Pool

The first step is to drain the pool water completely. This is necessary to remove the old liner and ensure proper installation of the new one.

Remove The Old Liner

The old vinyl liner is carefully removed from the pool. This includes unhooking it from the coping and removing any clips, bolts, or fasteners holding it in place.

Inspect The Pool Structure

Once the old liner is removed, the pool's surface is inspected for any damage or wear, such as cracks or leaks. If any repairs are needed, they are handled before installing the new liner.

Prepare The Pool Surface

The pool's walls and floor are thoroughly cleaned to ensure a smooth, debris-free surface for the new liner. Any rough spots are smoothed out to prevent damage to the new liner.

Install The New Liner

The new vinyl liner is carefully unfolded and positioned inside the pool. The liner is then aligned and fitted over the pool walls and floor, ensuring it's stretched properly without wrinkles.

Secure The Liner

The liner is fastened to the pool’s coping (top edge) using clips or track systems. The seams and edges are carefully sealed, and the liner is checked to make sure it's snug and secure.

Fill The Pool With Water

After the liner is installed and secured, the pool is filled with water while a vacuum simultaneously holds the liner in place. As the water level rises, the liner settles into place and moves into its final position.

Reinstall Pool Accessories

The skimmer, return jets, and other pool accessories are reattached, and the pool equipment is checked to ensure everything is functioning properly.

Final Inspection

A final inspection is done to ensure everything is properly installed, the liner is smooth, and no issues are present before the pool is ready for use.

Why Replace Your Pool Liner?

Wear and Tear

Over time, exposure to the sun, chemicals, and water can cause a vinyl liner to degrade. It may start to fade, crack, or show signs of significant wear, impacting both the aesthetics and functionality of your pool.

Tears or Holes

If the liner develops tears, holes, or punctures, it can lead to water loss, leaks, and potential damage to the pool structure. These issues can be difficult or costly to repair, making a full replacement a better option.

Staining or Discoloration

Old liners may become stained or discolored due to constant exposure to chemicals or algae buildup. While some stains can be cleaned, extensive discoloration often requires replacing the liner for a fresh, clean look.

Fading or Loss of Appearance

A pool liner’s color and pattern may fade over time, which can make your pool look dated and less inviting. Replacing the liner allows you to update the look of your pool and choose a style that suits your preferences.

Improved Efficiency

Over time, an old liner can become loose or uneven, which might reduce water circulation and affect pool efficiency. A new liner ensures a snug fit, contributing to better water flow and reducing the risk of leaks or inefficiency.

Increased Value

Replacing an old liner can increase the overall value of your pool. It can make your pool look more appealing, improve its functionality, and extend its lifespan, which is especially beneficial if you’re planning to sell your home.

Preventing Further Damage

If your liner is already showing signs of damage or wear, replacing it prevents further issues, such as the risk of water damaging the pool structure or causing other costly repairs down the road.

Customization

Replacing your liner gives you the opportunity to choose a new design, color, or texture that suits your style. It can also allow you to switch to a more durable or high-quality material, improving the overall pool experience.

Why Custom Measurement Matters:

Perfect Fit: Ensures that the liner perfectly fits the unique shape and dimensions of your pool.

Prevents Leaks: A custom-fit liner reduces the risk of water leaks caused by improper installation or ill-fitting liners.

Aesthetic Appeal: Properly measured and installed liners will look cleaner and more visually appealing, contributing to the overall beauty of your pool.

Durability: A custom liner helps to prevent damage caused by movement or stretching, which can shorten the lifespan of a liner.

Warranty

Many pool liners come with warranties that range from 15 to 25 years. The warranty typically covers defects, but not damage caused by improper maintenance or installation.
